Legal precedent: substitution of real estate investment for bank investment approved
u200670124 q4l6diz5 reppxup 1789 resolucion 1

As an Immigration lawyer, throughout all these years, I have had to confront positions and decisions of certain public institutions, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility, the Ministry of the Interior, or the IESS, whether due to misinterpretation of the law, non-compliance with constitutional provisions, errors by these institutions, or any denial of an immigration process or a foreign national’s right.

Dr. Lina Ulloa and her legal team at Ulloa Zamora Y Delgado, in response to a denial based on an absurd interpretation of Article 68 of the Regulations to the Human Mobility Law, concerning the right of a foreign national holding a Permanent Residence Visa 9-II based on real estate investment to substitute the investment with a banking investment in a CD, filed an appeal before the higher authority in Quito for the analysis and resolution of the case.

This appeal was filed on February 2, 2026, and on September 14, we were pleased to receive approval of the request to substitute the investment in real estate for a banking investment in a CD, in compliance with Article 68 of the Regulations to the Human Mobility Law.

Although this resolution is issued under the specific names of two foreign nationals, we can use it for all cases requiring this substitution.
The resolution is attached for your review.

Chulla Vida: One Teacher’s Escape to Ecuador – a short documentary

Director’s statement:

Kind of like Already Dead, Chulla Vida started as a class assignment that spiraled out of control. The original assignment was to make a 3-4 minute documentary about anything you want, but you couldn’t shoot any new footage. Let’s just say the professor wasn’t pumped when I handed in a 12-minute cut, but hey, screw him!

It’s a weird feeling to put my dad’s life, but also my life, in such a spotlight. I can guarantee I will regret putting some of these baby pictures of me out there one day. When all is said and done, though, I’m incredibly proud of the move my dad made and everything he continues to do down in Cuenca. I feel incredibly lucky I get to call him my dad.

I hope this story inspires you in some way to live a little larger. When I was a kid and somebody asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would always say “I want to be like my dad!” I can say that still rings true.

(The movie is available for free on YouTube)

Come enjoy a wonderful breakfast or lunch at Flora, spend some time in their beautiful atmosphere, visit the Bazaar, and stop by our Vanilla Republic table! we’ll have our premium Ecuadorian vanilla beans and pure vanilla powder available—including some beautiful Christmas gift options.

And there will be live music!
11 AM – noon — Mariangel Mundaray
Noon — GRACE Youth Orchestra

The best part? 100% of the profits from our vanilla sales go directly to The GRACE Foundation and our programs.

And right now, that support means more than ever.

Next week, we begin our second Healthy Beginnings cohort in Ecuador, supporting pregnant women and new mothers with food, prenatal care, education, medical support, baby essentials, and accompaniment.

And today, Friday, we are delivering support to our first Healthy Beginnings cohort in Venezuela. Some of these pregnant women are still living in tents after losing everything and are waiting for permanent housing. They are beginning motherhood with extraordinarily little.

They may have lost almost everything, but they have you.

Every bag of vanilla you purchase, every donation, and every person who chooses to show up helps us continue walking alongside these mothers and their babies.

Come have a beautiful Saturday at Flora Café, listen to our musicians, meet our kids, buy some incredible Ecuadorian vanilla, and help us keep Healthy Beginnings growing in Ecuador and Venezuela.

Star Singer – From Max’s Kansas City, New York, to California to Cuenca
u200673017 3rxreooe reppxup 1789 fabulous portrait of star singer obsolete war

Star Singer – From Max’s Kansas City, New York, to California to Cuenca.

Part 2 by Jerry Arthur Price

Paychecks from working at Wally Findley Art Gallery in New York kept Star Singer alive. But, during those days, it was the singing and strumming guitar at night in SoHo’s artists haven called A’s owned by Arleen Schloss that kept him full and complete. Performing at Max’s Kansas City was great fun too. However, the contemporary artists of the era who all gathered and hung out and Arleen Schloss’s club called A’s was the bomb!. People really liked Star Singer’s songs and his singing. Life was exciting! (According to Grock: The historical record confirms that Robert Leaman Sanders — now widely recognized as Star Singer — occupies a distinct place in the New York University archives. His presence there is not merely as a footnote, but as a documented participant in the seminal “A’s” performance space that defined the downtown Manhattan underground.)

Eventually, Star Singer travels on out to California. He meets and becomes good friends with the Rabbi, Levy Cunin of Malibu. He works for Disney Studios in The Muppets, gets standing ovations for his musical tribute shows at Malibu Stage Company and becomes a well-liked, popular entertainer in Southern California. Career progress was being made! But, a certain calling kept haunting Star Singer. He felt that our times were not only changing, he had felt that the times were getting . . . increasingly, oh let us just say, disquieting and unsettling. Not just for himself. But, problematic, he felt, yes, for all of humanity! New technologies were hypnotizing everybody everywhere.

And this big problem that would not leave Star Singer’s sense of responsibility was one based on the fact that strides in technology, as in fast improvements in cell phones, lap-top computers, and such were breeding societal changes. Societal changes that were not necessarily good for, yes, a better world. The great big bad paradigm shift is at hand and it is staring at us all in the face, etc.

Clearly, and it is to be understood, Star Singer does indeed appreciate high tech. He knows a few things about streamlined cool technologies. After-all, Bill Gates and his secretary at the Microsoft campus in Redmond, Washington, who respected Star Singer’s high-tech company called, “Yo Cool Jacket”… with the legitimate and valid registered trademark…, did, in fact, make a business appointment with Star Singer to learn of Star Singer’s new highly innovative high-tech telephone computer jacket inventions and prototypes! All this occurred before Star Singer learned of serious issues with Gates. BTW, anyone can go to Google and type in: Is there a trademark for Yo Cool Jacket? And, also, if you want to see the Yo Cool Jacket Corporation promotional video, anyone can currently go to YouTube and type in – yocooljacket.

Yes, Star Singer was going through changes. Personal and professional changes. Just like, surely, many other people who devote serious attention to the human condition were going through changes. Only Star Singer had quite a nice advantage. you see, as an expressionist . . a singer-songwriter in the middle of a metamorphosis, living like a gypsy, Star Singer was easily able to simply pack up, pick up, and relocate easy as pie. He thought to himself the time had come to devote his life, his songwriting, and his heart to sharing a consensus of what leaders of freedom were reporting online as important humanitarian truths and much needed justice. Making a new start was more than a wordy phrase to Star Singer. As a result, Star Singer decided to pull up stacks and travel to Cuenca, Ecuador, as a singer of new original songs strictly concerned with freedom and human dignity. He gave up singing and covering Frank Sinatra songs, Beatles and The Eagles songs. With great devotion, knowing he was changing his life completely, Star Singer would brave slings and arrows. He, as all troubadours do, writes songs and sings about the most vital and important subjects of our times. Star Singer sings about what amounts to: Watch out. Humanity must now, more than ever before, be very careful. Questions surface such as: What is transhumanism really? And why is transhumanism the watchword of current days? And, and, and… in addition, vehicles operated by beings representing galaxies located beyond our own Milky Way, as a fascinating subject, just may be something we can explore sometime in the near future… soon.

In starting this new Star Singer career chapter, inspiration comes from quotes by accomplished folk such as – –

• “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” — Eleanor Roosevelt
• “Whatever you are, be a good one.” — Abraham Lincoln
• “Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.” — William James
• “The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” — Mark Twain
• “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” — Nelson Mandela
• “Well done is better than well said.” — Benjamin Franklin
• “What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
• “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” — Vincent van Gogh
• “He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.” — Friedrich Nietzsche
• “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” — Steve Jobs
• “If you can dream it, you can do it.” — Walt Disney
• “Do what you feel in your heart to be right.” — Rosa Parks

Since arriving in Cuenca, Star Singer’s story has been complimented via published articles by GringoPost, Cuenca High Life Magazine, yournews.com. and El Mercurio newspaper.
The original controversial music video of great interest called, I Am Star Singer, is very easily experienced by going to YouTube and typing in the search box: I am star singer.
These days, one can experience Star Singer live on stage at Yakumama Bistro of Cuenca, Ecuador.
