Have you ever wondered where real vanilla comes from?
Join us on Thursday, October 1 for a special full-day trip from Cuenca to visit the vanilla farm of The Vanilla Republic, near the beautiful Manglares Churute Ecological Reserve in Guayas.
Come see how premium Ecuadorian vanilla is grown, hand-harvested, and carefully cured—from flower to finished bean. you will learn about the story behind this extraordinary ingredient, meet the people connected to its production, and experience a different side of Ecuador.
Transportation from Cuenca is included. Travel time is approximately 2.5–3 hours each way, making this a full-day adventure.
This experience also supports a meaningful purpose: part of The Vanilla Republic’s exports helps sustain the work of Fundación GRACE with vulnerable families and communities.
Spaces are limited. To express your interest and receive the full itinerary, please complete this form:
Hi, I’m Alex. I’m a marine biologist with a Master’s degree in Eco-Tourism and Business Administration from the University of Birmingham in the UK, and a Galápagos National Park Naturalist Guide. I’ve been living and working in the Galápagos for more than 30 years, and Isabela has been my home for most of that time.
After all these years, one thing I’ve learned is that there really isn’t one “best” way to see the Galápagos.
It depends on you — your time, your interests, your budget, and what you really want to experience.
That’s why I don’t offer the same package to everyone. I personally organize custom island-hopping trips between Isabela, Santa Cruz, San Cristóbal and, when it makes sense, Floreana. I can take care of the accommodations, inter-island transportation, excursions, private transfers and all those little details that can otherwise make planning a Galápagos trip complicated.
But for me, it’s not just about putting together a list of tours.
Maybe you want to snorkel with sea lions and turtles, see giant tortoises in the highlands, walk through volcanic landscapes, explore lava tunnels, visit penguins, or simply spend a quiet afternoon on a beautiful beach.
And sometimes the best moments are the ones you didn’t plan — a beautiful sunset, a conversation with a local, finding a special little spot, or simply sitting by the ocean and enjoying where you are.
Because I live here, I can also be flexible. If something needs to change along the way, we can usually find a solution. I’m happy to share my experience and give you my honest opinion about what I think is really worth your time and money — and what you probably don’t need to spend your money on. So, if you’re thinking about a trip to the Galápagos, feel free to send me a message.
Whether you’re just starting to dream about the islands, already have your flights, or aren’t quite sure where to begin, tell me your dates, how many people are traveling and a little about what you enjoy. we can simply have a conversation and see what makes sense for you.
No pressure, no fixed package — just my experience helping you put together a Galápagos trip that feels like your own.
I’d be very happy to hear from you.
