The Galápagos isn’t meant to be watched from a cruise deck.
Most travelers move through the islands pretty quickly—fixed schedules, same routes, always surrounded by groups.
But the real Galápagos is different.
It’s when you slow down.
When you walk volcanic trails without crowds.
When you get in the water and you’re not just seeing wildlife—you’re right there with sea turtles and penguins moving around you, not past you.
I’m Alex Arregui. I’ve lived and worked here for nearly 30 years as a National Park Certified Guide (#143). I also have a Master’s from the University of Birmingham.
What I do is not just guiding—I help you actually understand what you’re looking at, and why this place is so unique.
I work with land-based experiences on Isabela Island, based in Puerto Villamil.
No rushing. No strict itineraries.
You stay in my private suites, right by the Flamingo Lagoon and one block from the beach, and explore the islands at the right pace.
It’s a much more real way to experience the Galápagos—and it also supports local people here on the island, from small restaurants to independent boat captains.
If you’re coming all the way here, it’s worth doing it properly.
Send me a message or WhatsApp me directly and I’ll help you put something together that actually makes the trip worth it.
