The Polylepis hiking route takes you deep into one of the most unique and fragile ecosystems of the Andes, El Cajas National Park. This trail winds through ancient polylepis forests, also known as “paperbark trees,” whose twisted trunks and peeling reddish bark create a magical, almost otherworldly atmosphere.

As you walk, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of high-altitude lakes, rugged mountain peaks, and the rich biodiversity of El Cajas National Park. The Polylepisgroves provide shelter to a variety of birds, including the giant hummingbird and the endemic violet-throated metaltail.

Hi everyone!

This may be a long shot, but does anyone know where I could find a smart mattress or adjustable smart bed in Ecuador?

I’m specifically looking for something designed for couples, where each side can have different firmness settings, positions, or temperature controls.

Alternatively, if anyone brought one from the U.S. (Sleep Number, Eight Sleep, Tempur-Pedic, etc.) and is thinking about selling it, please send me a message.

Any recommendations or leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am looking for an apartment, long term lease! 1 or 2 bed, bath and a half, terrace or fairly large balcony, in a quiet area.
I am very clean and a non-drinker or smoker and my cats have never done damage.

I pay rent on time and look after the property.

Looking for long term and walking distance to the tranvia and it would be nice to be within walking distance to the river. I am moving, as a high rise is going up right behind my terrace and the noise is prohibitive.

We play on good-quality courts (for Ecuador!) around 20 minutes outside Cuenca, in a quieter area with very little traffic and pollution — a great change from playing in the city.

Most of our group are Ecuadorians in their 30s and 40s, and we’re looking for a few more players who enjoy competitive singles and are in good physical shape.

There’s no fixed schedule. we organize games through a WhatsApp group, so it’s very flexible.

The courts are located in Charasol in the Azogues parish, close to the old Pan-American Highway. There are also buses from the Cuenca bus terminal that pass near the courts. I can also pick you up from the Autopista if necessary.

If you’d like to get out of Cuenca, meet new people, and play good tennis in a more relaxed environment, send me a message. Remember there is no charge to use the courts.
