If you’ve ever enjoyed Cuenca’s tango community or appreciate those who make our city special, please consider helping Luis Uribe.
Luis, co-founder of Tango Art, recently underwent emergency surgery due to severe diabetes complications and now faces a long recovery, additional medical care, and months away from work.
Please take a moment to read his story in the flyer below. Any donation or share is greatly appreciated.
This is about as short as I’d go while still giving people a reason to stop and read the flyer.

After many years in our current home, idiomARTE will be moving to a new location on Benigno Malo and Calle Larga in the heart of downtown Cuenca.
This move is part of a broader shift toward a more sustainable and more intentional model for idiomARTE. Our new home will feature art studios, classrooms, welcoming common areas, an intimate event and gathering space, and a community library with a comfortable reading area.
As part of this transition, we will be focusing more deeply on ongoing programs, creative practice, learning experiences, and cultural exchange. Our goal is to create a rhythm that allows for more meaningful participation, stronger relationships, and a deeper sense of community.
The move will take place in July and continue into August as we settle into the new house and fine-tune programs and activities for this next chapter.
In the coming weeks, we will announce the final events and activities to take place in our current house before the move. we will also invite our community to lend a hand during this transition. A move of this scale comes with many moving parts, and we will be reaching out soon with ways to get involved.
We look forward to sharing more details soon and to seeing many familiar faces as we celebrate this transition and settle into our new home.
