Last week the US cards could not be used and most of this week. Very happy it is back in service but am being charged $4.48 by this bank for US card. Is everyone else charged such?

Banco Austro $4 for any withdrawl upto $500 00

I appreciate your sharing, John. I'd understood that $300 was their maximum. $4 on $500 is so much easier to swallow! 00

How much rent are you paying for the rock you are living under? 00

I only use JEP cajeros these days. I withdraw from my Schwab International Checking account. The ATM charge is $5 per pull, but I can get $500 at once. That makes it 1%. You should keep in mind this is not free for Schwab. With all the fees going up sooner or later something will have to give. Maybe only free to accounts with $1M+ etc. I therefore try to minimize the fees charged to Schwab. BTW Banco International is still free to... 00

i get only $400 for $4.48 charge. 00

Always use Banco Guayaquil for debit/credit card transactions. They are the only one that only charges. $1.50 00
Jon
Yes, I am looking for a branch nearby. 00

Yes, all are charged as far as I know. Producbanco has a $4 charge but you can only take out $100 (from a US bank) at a time so Pichincha is still better. 00

I think all banks charge for ATM withdrawals now. I think Guayaquil has the lowest fee.. Some banks like Guayaquil will let you withdraw cash from the teller using US cards without any fee. 00

What is there limit per withdrawal? 00

I used to use Banco Pachincha because it was on my way to my lunch spot, but after getting only a receipt and no money (on two different occasions) I've been using only Banco del Pacifico ($4 per transaction but it always works). No doubt someone else has a better idea, but I'm willing to put up with a 2% charge ($4 for each $200 cash) for something that works.Read more00

Yeah Jon, going by the endless discussions on GP, pretty much EVERY bank is charging for withdraws. Those that aren't won't be leaving money on the table much longer, I would think.Que será será 00

The only no fee option bank available that I am aware of is for Cap 1 card holders at Banco International.
Yes there is still Schwab BUT they are paying the fees. 00

Won't they have to change it back eventually because these are international bank networks whereby it is agreed there will be no mutual charges? The $4 charges are contrary to the spirit of that. 00
