I have had all 3 Covid shots, but only have a card from the facility that administered the shots and it has no QR code. How/where can you get the QR coded card?

Sentient Being
Instead of fretting among yourselves, why not follow official MSP communications?

My certificate does not show my booster shot. Just the 2 SINOVAC shots. Should this be a problem? Thanks 00
Jonathan Mason
Maybe, because if you have to have shot number 4 eventually , you do not want it to be recorded as shot number 3. If you have a card showing that you got the booster shot, you should probably go and see the Vigilancia lady at the Pumapongo health center... 00

I got mine online from the ministerio as a PDF. I have a hard copy and I have it saved as PDF on my phone. That's what I use. 00

If you got your vaccinations using your passport, you can’t get it online. I’m going to follow Jonathan’s instructions now that I have my cédula. 00
Jonathan Mason
Actually you can. I had vaccines first under my passport number, and then with my cedula, and the helpful lady at the Health Ministry consolidated them under my passport number. However if the first one on a passport is shown as the first vaccine, and then the one with the... 00

QR codes are helpful but so far, not required. Our cards do not have it and were given a cursory glance both in the U.S. and in Quito. As long as the stamp of the administering office is clearly visible. 00

If you want to print one out yourself, you can just Google "Ecuador certificado de vacuna" and that should take you straight to the relevant Ministerio de Salud page or if you don't have a printer maybe you can save it to a memory stick and take it to any print shop to print it out. Or putting a photo of it on your cell phone should also work.
Another alternative is that you can go to Ministerio de Salud public health center #1 in Cuenca, which is across the road from the Pumapongo museum, and you will see vaccination tents outside on the left of the building as you enter from the street. Just to the right of the vaccination tents is an outside staircase that leads up to the first floor (above the planta baja), so climb the steps, and at the first office on the right (Vigilancia) as you go through the door they will print one out for you and also send you an email copy.
Take your passport and/or cedula and vaccine cards, and bear in mind that they take lunch from about 12:30 to 2:30.
Do you absolutely need it? I don't know, but I have been told that you need the certificate with the QR code to be allowed to travel to the Galapagos, and I believe you may need it for some other countries. If you are a US citizen, you do not need proof of vaccination to re-enter the US, but for other countries it is best practice to have the full documentation. Why run the risk of missing a flight that you have already paid for because of vaccination paperwork?Read more00

I recently found this tab under the "tendencias" (trends) section of El Universo (online), called "certificado de vacunacion" (vaccination certificate). At the bottom of the article once you select this dropdown from scrolling over, the boxes to fill out are visible. You need your passport or cedula # and your birthdate. You should be able to see all your vaccinations, including booster, and the QR code, which you can print. You might have to send the link to your e-mail to do that, or to save it for later.Read more00

Thanks Marshall for that good information. I was able to do this but had to use chrome....didn't work for me using Edge. 00
Marshall
Yes, and I use Chrome primarily because it automatically translates. Glad it worked, I was amazed as well! 00

See my reply, it has the link to the actual website to generate a certificate with QR code. 00
