Flexible bank for receiving international wire transfers?

Good morning,

JEP is easy going but I don’t believe they accept international wire transfers. Banco Pichincha does, but at times they are inflexible.

Would Banco Del Austro be a good choice?

They do, but they need intermediary banks to receive them (for international transfers). We have used Xoom for large xfers from the U.S. to JEP. Recently we opened an account with Banco Guayaquil, and we can just write them a check (for depost) from our U.S. bank, and they'll deposit... Read more 0 0

I do transfers frequently to Banco del Austro. I used to be with Banco International but they were incredibly rude to me because I did not understand Spanaish, I closed my accounts at BI. 0 0

They charge me $250 per transfer with my US ck. deposited here for $9750, and hold it a month before depositing it. I have had excellent accounts and CDs for 5 years at Pichincha. My US bank does not do out of country wires. 0 0

Sounds like it's time to switch banks! I use Banco Guayaquil, they charged me $2.50 to deposit the $15G check I deposited with them (from my U.S. bank). Alternately, you could use Xoom (part of Paypal) to wire transfer, they can transfer US - JEP for about $40 0 0

JEP accepted my international transfer and they way they handled is was I had to do a domestic transfer to their parent bank, Banco Pinchincha in Miami, and THEY did the transfer to Ecuador. Just sayin. 0 0

That is interesting. When I opened my CD account, they did not tell me they had a branch in Miami. Bank of America would not do a transfer to a correspondent bank, so JEP suggested I open an Schwab investment account first and then do the transfers. Lots of extra... 0 0

Produbanco or Banco International are your better choices, I been using both for years with no issues. 0 0

I have received 2 wire transfers this year from the States. Once to CB Coorperativa through Banco del Austro, another time to JEP through Banco Pichincha. The wire transfer to JEP/Banco Pichincha was faster, cheaper, and less hassle. 0 0

I received 2 wire transfers from the US to JEP without a problem last year. They use an intermediary bank (Banco Pichincha I think), in Florida. 0 0
