When it’s not duty free – what is it?

I want to bring back more than 3 liters of scotch whiskey I return from EEUU to EC. Does anyone know how much duty is paid when it’s no longer duty free?
A link to the exact rule is much appreciated. I’ve seen everything from 25% of price of bottles to $7.34 more per bottle and don’t know what’s correct.

FYI - just got back from the US 3 weeks ago. After claiming your luggage, customs does not inspect bags randomly any more. They now have x-ray machines and all luggage must go through the x-ray. 0 0

The limit for Ecuador is 3 liters per family. Sorry I don't have a link to the official document. We routinely bring back 3 liters in the wife's luggage and 3 liters in my luggage. We let a few others between us at customs. Done this many times. 0 0

Not true. My last trip into Ecuador was from Chile (pre-pandemic). We bought 13 bottles of wine between my wife and me. We split them so that she had 6 bottles and I had 7, and went through separately (with a couple other families between us). ALL luggage went through... 0 0
