Hi everyone, I am Alex Arregui. I’ve lived and worked in the Galápagos for nearly 30 years as a Marine Biologist and a National Park certified guide (#143). After recently spending a month in Cuenca, I realized that many people feel overwhelmed by the high costs and rigid schedules of the big cruise ships.
I want to show you my home a different way. I specialize in land-based, sustainable expeditions that skip the middleman. we work directly with local families, independent boat captains, and organic farmers. This doesn’t just keep your costs more reasonable; it ensures your visit actually supports the community here on the islands.
I don’t just “show” you wildlife. I translate the science behind what you’re seeing—explaining why these species evolved the way they did and pointing out the details most visitors walk right past.
When you stay on Isabela Island, you’ll stay at my private suites in Puerto Villamil. we are located right across from the Flamingo Lagoon and just one block from the beach. It is the perfect, quiet base for exploring the volcanic highlands or the best snorkeling spots in the archipelago at your own pace.
Whether you are planning a trip for visiting family or looking for a deep-dive scientific expedition for yourself, let’s talk. I can help you navigate the logistics of the islands without the “tourist trap” feel.
Feel free to reach out via WhatsApp or email, or you can see more of my work on my website
