In folk medicine, Rosemary has been used as an antispasmodic, mild analgesic to cure intercostal neuralgia, headaches, migraine, insomnia, emotional upset, and depression. Some research shows it has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, wound-healing and anticancer activity in dermatological practice. As it contains camphor, Rosemary is helpful in massage and arthritis blends and can help improve circulation. Rosemary has an excellent reputation for oily skin/acne, scalp and hair care, and rosemary oil can be helpful with alopecia (hair loss).
