— Let’s talk health insurance policies… I am 72 years old with pre-existing conditions (diabetes and high blood pressure). Both under control with medicine (tablets).
— I presently have IESS. As soon as I get a better alternative / (policy) I am dropping IESS immediately. Basura. Enough said.
— I have been doing a lot of research about this and Salud S.A. is out of the question. Way too much for monthly premiums.
— Of the 3 popular insurance people / companies that gringos seem to flock to, the one that boasts excellent customer service has been a total waste of time. No return phone calls, no return e-mails for days, not at all interested in coming to mi casa to explain their policies. 2 weeks gone by and I am no further along now than when I first started communicating with them. Finito.
— After 2 separate meetings at mi casa with the other 2 ladies (both very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable) one company seems to be pushing BMI, while the other seems to be pushing Confiamed (of course both will deny this, but that is what they are doing).
Don’t mind telling you that I am about as confused as I ever want to be.
So kind people I would appreciate any information from the Cuenca expat community as to BMI and Confiamed. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
Thank you.
