Good news for U.S. citizens in the Cuenca area: Representatives from the U.S. Consulate General in Guayaquil will be in Cuenca on Wednesday and Thursday, September 23–24, 2026, providing passport, notarial and Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) services.

Appointments are required.
Applicants should arrive with the appropriate forms completed and bring originals and photocopies of required citizenship and identification documents.
Passport applicants using forms DS-11 or DS-82 must pay the applicable fee in advance through Pay.gov.
For notarial services, payment is by Ecuadorian bank cashier's check only, payable to U.S. Disbursing Officer. The fee is $50 per consular signature.
