We are an organization dedicated to helping parents who are returning to school to finish their high school education. We provide free childcare for their children while they attend evening classes, so children do not have to attend class with their parents.
Our childcare is staffed by a professional, degreed pre-school teacher five nights a week. Additionally, a team of Volunteers supports the teacher and provides a nutritious meal every evening during the school year.
The school operates Monday through Friday evenings. Volunteers arrive at 6 PM and stay until about 8 PM.
The school is located in El Centro at the corner Gran Columbia and Padre Aguirre in Cuenca right next to the Santo Domingo Tranvia stop.

Living in Ecuador gives you countless opportunities to use Spanish — you just need the confidence and the right tools to make the most of them.
Whether you are a complete beginner, have some Spanish under your belt, or are already an advanced speaker, there is a place for you at Vamos. Our courses are organized by level, with structured lessons, clear learning objectives, and materials that help you build your skills step by step.
Learn the Spanish you will actually use: ordering at a restaurant, chatting with your neighbors, asking for directions, making appointments, shopping at the market, or simply joining a conversation without wondering what you missed.
Our classes are limited to 5 students, so you get plenty of opportunities to speak while learning alongside other adults who are also living and learning in Ecuador. We keep the atmosphere relaxed, supportive, and practical, with plenty of time to ask questions, make mistakes, and try again.
Spanish learning continues beyond the class with cultural experiences every other Friday, including Ecuadorian cooking classes, salsa, guided walks, fruit tasting, Latin American films, and more.

We had dinner at the new Guillermina’s Bistró Social, located at Calle Larga 9-9: AM y Benigno Malo in Cuenca, and what a wonderful experience it was! The food and atmosphere were absolutely amazing, as were the wine and cocktails.
I had the Pato Confitado a la Naranja (Duck Confit à l’Orange), followed by the Mandarin Crème Brûlée, and both were simply heavenly. The staff were warm, welcoming, friendly, and wonderfully attentive throughout the evening.
I can’t recommend Guillermina’s highly enough. I have a feeling this is going to become one of my new favorite restaurants in Cuenca!
