This Artisan Fashion Expo is part of the Programming of the Celebration of the 199 Years of Independence, in addition to the tributes that will be paid to our beloved city for the commemoration of its 20 years of its declaration as Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Organized by: Provincial Federation of Professional Artisans of Azuay, hand in hand with the Prefecture of Azuay.

The purpose of this event is to support the artisans of our region, who are reinventing themselves at the hands of young creators and designers, as well as master craftsmen, who, with their freshness and daring, are turning their craft laboratories into a true laboratory. of sensory, emotional and symbolic experiences, which are worth being exposed and making them known to the community.
It is for this reason, that we hope to have your valuable presence and thus support these new renovation initiatives, which opens the possibility that handicrafts, as part of cultural industries, will be consolidated as a true important factor to consider in the modern economy of Ecuador; since it not only contributes to the economic growth of the country, but also helps to transmit and maintain the cultural roots and identity of the nation.
By virtue of this we want to bet on the return and the worthy assessment for our crafts, with an artistic vision, where the objective is the aesthetics of these products is appreciated as a form of the culture of the people that will surround it in their daily life, as per example with household items, changing rooms, etc. but above all, its main objective is the restoration of the dignity of the artisan.
We have in mind, we develop work programs, in order to consider artisans as bearers of popular wisdom and to qualify the activity they carry out as collective or author’s expression, so that, among other reasons, the practice of specific techniques, usually traditional, expressions of the culture of peoples that, at the rhythm of the transformations of their ways of life, can incorporate inherited knowledge.
Soon we will be carrying out multidisciplinary work tables to promote artisanal development and the study of its national and international market, with the field of conviction to make our artisans become increasingly competitive.
