Doug and I have been in Cuenca for 6 years. We recently moved and after living in a furnished apartment all that time we decided to go all in and get furniture, appliances, the works.
You are never too long in Cuenca to forego the services of an excellent facilitator such as Carlos Quiroga. His 10 years of helping expats to get what they need at great prices cannot be underestimated. Why? Because he is constantly shopping making contacts, and learning.
As we all know living in Cuenca is a constant learning experience. Carlos is constantly doing what we may only do once in our time here. So, his information is up to the minute and had saved us time, money and frustration.
He asks questions you might not think to ask and can explain to both the expat and the vendor what you are both saying. His many years of living in Canada gives him a North American sense of punctuality and standards of behavior especially when dealing with difficult experiences. He is always calm, accommodating and always comes through for his clients. We have known and used Carlos for over 6 years and he has never failed to deliver for us.
