Let’s start this tour with Martha, an iconographer, in her charming home-studio.
She will give us a fascinating presentation on what iconography is. How to read an icon? What is the Byzantine world view and its’ expression through iconography?
Martha will tell us about this fascinating universe, her tools, and the highly precise techniques of an iconographer.
Next, we will visit the two art restorers of the Museo de las Conceptas. They will welcome us into their studios inside the museum and explain the conservation work they are currently doing. One specializes in painting, while the other focuses primarily on the restoration of wooden frames and sculptures. It’s just breathtaking!
