After seeing a post on GringoPost to expats living here, I donated some clothes and various items to help a single mother of three called Jenny Alverez.
I also visited her stall at Feria Libre on a busy Wednesday, she was very hard to find because there’s literally hundreds of stall holders on the street selling their used items. I called Juan, (her friend who also posted his contact number on that posting) and he sent me a picture of Jenny and the location where her stall is.
After hearing Jenny’s story from Juan, one has to have compassion for this lady and her journey – three days a week – from Santa Ana, (this is a long bus ride from the mountains)…
She does this willingly to help her three children (and even stray dogs in the village!)
