Over the course of the last couple of weeks Americans here in Cuenca have watched in horror as federal ICE and Border Patrol agents have lain siege to cities in Minnesota and elsewhere.
On Friday, January 30th the members of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Mission will be holding an ecumenical Prayer Vigil for the people of Minnesota, their fallen neighbors and immigrants and refugees from across the world who are facing deportation and struggling for democracy in times of turmoil. We would like to invite our fellow expats who are people of faith or no faith at all to join us.
The vigil will include music, poetry, a message and a moment of silence for Renée Good and Alex Pretti.
The Prayer Vigil will be held at 6 PM at the Flora Caffe, Garcilaso de la Vega 10b and Primero de Mayo.
Come early, and plan to have dinner at the Flora Caffe prior to the Vigil.
