I own a beautiful painting by Michael Pinchera, an artist residing in Cuenca. Michael’s piece is in the most prominent place we could find in our home. Since owning it, this art has been a calming, peaceful, but dynamic presence for me. Like much good art, my experience of it has evolved, and I get different meanings out of it over time. Especially during this lock-down, Michael’s painting has been a great comfort, a symbol of wellness and peace.
Michael is now accepting commissions. I highly recommend that you contact Michael to chat about possibilities for a commissioned piece. As with all commissions, the process will be somewhat collaborative, because you can talk with him about colors, themes, and hopes for what the painting will be when finished. But in the end, the magic is in what the artist does with this information. It’s partly your wishes, and partly the expertise and sensitivity of the artist that makes a good commissioned painting.
