About a day and a half ago, my boyfriend and I found a small female dog alone in the park near my home, in the Bilingüe area. She ran straight toward us, and when we stopped to pet her, she immediately started crying. She is extremely sweet, friendly, and clearly used to human contact.
She is wearing a collar but has no tag. A 24-hour veterinarian confirmed that she appears to be a house dog. Her coat is healthy, her gums are in good condition, and she seems to have been fed good-quality dog food. She has no teeth, but she eats well and is very gentle.
Sadly, she has a small lesion on the tip of her nose. The vet suspects it could be lupus, but this cannot be confirmed without blood tests. She also has fleas and needs basic treatment and medical care.
I could not leave her on the street, but I also cannot keep her. I live in a very small apartment, already have a dog, and I am a student with limited income. For now, I took her to a 24-hour veterinary clinic so she would be safe, and I am covering the costs of her stay, food, and treatment.
We have been trying to find her owners, as she cries often and seems confused and scared, as if she is missing someone. If no one comes forward, we fear she may have been abandoned due to her health.
I will not put her back on the street. If anyone is willing to adopt her, foster her temporarily, or help with medical expenses, it would mean everything. With Christmas so close, I truly hope to give her a second chance.
