… Some folks actually check Star Singer out at Lirondo’s and at Yakumama when he performs because of the true stories! And that’s fabulous!! For a good time is always had by all!!!
It was a rainy mid-afternoon in Manhattan. Star Singer was be-bopping along Fifth Avenue. He looks to his left and he realizes that he was passing Korvettes Department Store. Star Singer looks to his right and Bang!, a limousine pulls up fast, stops suddenly, and 2 gorillas (large men) get out of the car assisting the late, great singer, Charles Aznavour, who made a bee-line for the entrance to Korvettes! As if choreographed by Jerome Robbins, Star Singer swiftly and automatically got right in step with the body-guards and Mr. Aznavour and all 4 marched into an elevator as Aznavour was on-route to sign records for folks waiting at Korvettes vinyl records department. The elevator doors close. The 2 bodyguards look at each other as if to say: “How did this guy get in here?” Charles Aznavour says to Star Singer: “Hello, how are you today?” Star Singer says: “Oh, fine. I would like to invite you to my performance I have scheduled for tonight. Would you consider coming to Billy Carrol’s as my guest of honor?” Aznavour smiles, chuckles, and says: “nothing would please me more! Only, I’m flying back to Paris in 3 hours… next time?!” Star Singer, “That’ll be great! Thanks!”
