Discover Aya Huma – The Dancing Spirit of the Andes
In Andean tradition, Aya Huma is not a demon — but a dancing spirit, a guardian of balance and celebration.
“Aya” means spirit, and “Huma” means head.
He appears during Inti Raymi, the Festival of the Sun, dancing to honor Pachamama and to give thanks for the harvest, the fruits of the earth, and the cycle of life.
He dances with joy, strength, and rhythm — a reminder that life and nature move together.
This illustration is an original Chicapán design, created by Ecuadorian artist Lenin Vallejos, and hand-printed in small-batch artisanal production in our workshop in Otavalo.
Each piece is unique, crafted with care and cultural respect.
High-quality cotton, soft feel, and long-lasting print.
Come discover the Aya Huma collection and explore more original Andean-inspired designs — each one tells a story, and each one supports a local independent artist.
