I arrived in Cuenca on June 5th not knowing much Spanish. I was struggling with getting some things like medical care, getting my visitor’s visa extended, setting up a cell phone plan, etc. Diana was referred to me though a few different friends.
I have AFib, and had an episode a few months ago. I called Diana to find out how to go about getting medical care. She came and picked me up at my Airbnb, took me to the emergency room, and stay there the entire time (3 to 4 hours). She acted as an interpreter with the medical staff, and took care of paying the bill when we left.
Diana has helped me navigate through a number of complex situations now, and she is extremely efficient and get’s the job done! And to top it all off, she is one of the nicest and most caring persons I’ve met in Cuenca.
She’s fluent in both Spanish and English, and I highly recommend her, especially to anyone who wants to make their transition to living in Cuenca much smoother.
