The “Ecuadorian” method to improve your spoken Spanish?
Hmmm, never heard about that.
Do you know why?
Probably because honoring its culture, this Ecuadorian method was not in time when it was formally introduced.
But anyway, it finally got here.
Simple as getting a Tourist visa for Ecuador.
Not a complex thing at all as getting all the papers together and notarize them.
Put your feet confidently on Spanish language land without being kicked out from Spanish conversations or being labeled as illegal in Ecuadorian Spanish language territory.
Use the E-C-U-A-D-O-R trick:
E- Enhance the vowels, Spanish is a romance language not a consonant language like English or German.
C- Cement intentionally your vocabulary by using new words in real contexts.
U- Use mostly your lips and cheeks instead of your jaw. Remember, it’s Spanish not
jaw push-ups.
A- Add some facial expressions that match what you are saying, no matter the amount of AI on the loose, you’re still human not a bot in disguise, so talk as a decent human.
D- Do a short warming up prior to speaking Spanish, believe me, it helps, maybe you won’t pass for a Cuencano but it definitely moves the needle.
O- Organize a vocabulary’s wall, I said a vocabulary wall not building a wall.
And I am not talking about borders but links, bridges to connect words and who knows…eventually lands and cultures.
R- Recap the already learned and keep moving, dear learner you know… as the saying goes… learning is always earning.
