According to Wikipedia, the red pill and the blue pill are metaphorical terms representing a choice between learning an unsettling or life-changing truth by taking the red pill or remaining on the unquestioned experience of illusion appearing as ordinary reality with the blue pill. The pills were used as props in the 1999 movie, The Matrix. In simpler terms, take the red pill and wake up, or, take the blue pill and remain as a victim of conditioning as a sleep-walker who knows not what really goes on, etc.
Yakumama Bistro of Cuenca, Ecuador, often features topical singer-songwriter, Star Singer in the spotlight on stage on Wednesday evenings. In a line from Star Singer’s new original song with the title, I Want Freedom, music aficionados can hear, “You can wake up if you choose / When you cancel TV news”. Such lyrics prompted one Cuencano to say that Star Singer reminds him of a sort of new Phil Ochs. Judge for yourself, dear Reader. See Star Singer at Yakumama Bistro next time he’s on stage!
