This weekend is Carnival. To be brutally honest, it is historically a slow weekend for us. We are one to two blocks removed from the festivities, and traffic/parking is a nightmare. So, we are going to try something a little different.
The traffic will probably not get out of control until mid-day. So, we are going to try something in the morning while it is still easy to get here.
We are going to put together small picnic meals in a box. Two pieces of fried chicken, a half-size serving of coleslaw, a half-size serving of potato salad, and a biscuit. You can come by in the morning, pick up the easy to carry meal, then take it to the Carnival festivities or to the Sting concert. So come see us early and avoid the traffic hassles.
Yes, you did read that last paragraph correctly. We said biscuits. We are introducing biscuits this week. We have labored for a long time trying to get them right. We will also have biscuits and sausage gravy for you early birds that want to come down for breakfast (starting at 9 AM). There will be a special price for the introduction.
We are also going to introduce coneys. Different regions have different ideas what a coney is. Ours is a hot dog, covered with our own chili style coney sauce, then topped with a mustardy sweet cabbage slaw.
