We have an exciting program called Cultura Viva, where you learn Spanish while focusing on topics of interest.
Cultura Viva combines dynamic lessons, immersive field trips, lectures, and hands-on activities to strengthen your language skills and develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the cultural traditions that shape life in Ecuador and Latin America. Each course integrates tailored vocabulary, grammar, and concepts directly into the lessons.
In March, we’re starting our second session, and we’re particularly excited about one of our classes. Given the environmental instability we’re witnessing firsthand, this class will help you understand the local context:
Topic 1: Environment in the Andes and the Amazon
This class explores key environmental issues in Ecuador with expert insights and a field experience. You’ll delve into topics like climate change, the Ecuadorian highlands, the Ecuadorian Amazon, and cultural and environmental stewardship and conservation. Expert socio-environmental biologist, Diana Moscoso, will be a guest speaker, and you’ll also have a day-long excursion to witness firsthand what you’ve been learning in class.
Class starts March 4 and finishes on the 27th.
Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 – 4 PM.
The cost is $125 (includes guest speaker and day trip to el campo).
