Around Cuenca, everyone kind of gets a Rep. I guess Barry and I have earned the brand as “Dog people” due to our work raising funds for the new land and shelter with Fundacion FAAN. A brand, gladly accepted!
Well, every once in a while, a special pup crosses our path deserving of a little extra Situation Room news coverage. Rescued by a kind Cuencana, this beautiful Lab/Retriever mix, we have named Suca was seen and rescued in a vulnerable state, confused and scared and unable to cross a busy Cuenca street. Generous Cuencana and expat donors have thus far paid for Suca to be spayed, vaccinated, de-wormed, and given flea meds and she is now being cared for and socialized with other dogs at a pet hotel.
Why do we want and need Suca to be fostered or adopted this week? Well, part of the reason is when a dog enters a shelter environment, they very often lose their second chance in the pack of pups. Suca, while initially timid, displays a sweet and kind-hearted family nature. Labs are intelligent, easily trainable, loyal, easy to groom, and have great temperament. The second reason is community support cannot continue to pay for her food and lodging. This baby girl really needs a forever home. Please contact Debbie Rose for a meet and greet with Suca. You will be so glad you did! Like our Schatzi girl, rescue pups who have had such a ruff start, give you more love than you can imagine.
