If you like to draw, or would like to begin drawing, there is an opportunity in Cuenca to attend life drawing sessions at the Museo de Arte Moderno, on Sucre and Talbot, by Parque San Sebastián.
These are open sessions with different models each week. Here, we do not have nude models, but we do have clothed dancers, musicians, designers and other local people (and some expats) who take the stand and give us a chance to practice capturing the amazing form of the human figure.
We begin with timed, very short gestural poses and continue toward longer poses. This is not a class with a teacher. You may draw using any method or style that you like.
Some experience is helpful, but beginners who are learning and practicing are welcome. You only need paper and pencil, or other drawing materials.
It’s a lovely practice where you can benefit from each session by truly seeing, refining proportions, improving hand/eye coordination, and recording forms in a quiet and respectful environment.
We appreciate a donation (suggested $10 per session) to pay our models.
