From Cuenca, we transfer to “Portete de Tarqui” (9071 ft.) where our adventure starts on a historic place where “The Battle of Tarqui” took place after the invasion of the Peruvian army in 1829.
Following an alternate road, “Camino Viejo,” we will arrive at the symbolic “Girón” town, which has a wide variety of climates and cultural manifestations.
We continue our trip to the south of “Azuay Province”, and cycle towards the warm “Yunguilla Valley” (4425 ft.), a charming area full of fruit trees, sugar cane fields, and amazing views.
