I’m reaching out to the amazing expat community to ask for help for my lifelong childhood friend. His son has become very sick and he needs help. Unfortunately, that means money. If you have the ability to help him, I would greatly appreciate it.
Help for My Son Danielito:
My son, Daniel, is 16 years old and was born in perfect health. He’s been a great student, athlete, and a loving, cooperative child. Out of nowhere, he’s come down with a serious kidney infection. The official diagnosis is Post-Infectious Glomerulonephritis, Nephrotic Syndrome, kidney failure, urinary tract infection, hyperuricemia, and moderate hypoalbuminemia.
He has been hospitalized in Clínica San José since August 28 and is still in an unstable medical condition. The attending nephrologist, Dr. Belkys Rodríguez, decided to start dialysis as of September 3 at the dialysis center in Hospital Dr. Domingo Guzmán Lander. His doctors say if his condition does not improve, he will need a kidney transplant.
I am asking for help as a distraught and desperate father. I don’t have the financial resources, much less do we have the sufficient medical facilities given the precarious situation of our hospitals. Funds are needed for dialysis and the required daily testing. Your help–no matter how small–will be a huge help in Daniel’s recovery allowing him to live a full and happy life.
God bless you.
