If you want to know more of what is beyond the city of Cuenca, the traditions of the rural Andes in the south of Ecuador and get to meet and view the crafters at work, then this is the perfect opportunity!
On this tour you will know and experience more of the rural area of Azuay, which is the province to which Cuenca is the capital. Know some of the crafters that have been preserving the family art for several generations and whose work is recognized even internationally.
We will be going to the popular artisan villages of Azuay: San Bartolomé, Chordeleg and Gualaceo.
We will depart from Cuenca at 8 AM and will visit the following towns:
– San Bartolomé (famous for its route of the guitars)
– Chordeleg (famous for its jewelry)
– Gualaceo (famous for its textiles)
This will be a full-day tour, in which you will get to know more of the southern Andes of Ecuador, the local life out of the city and talented people working hard to keep ancient traditions alive.
