One of my workers is in a bind because the last of his family in Venezuela are not eating well and his brother is now quite ill as a result. He and his wife and baby are in process to leave for Cuenca to join the rest of the family here and they are $600 short. I have done all I can to help and the situation is desperate. So, I know there are so many of you out there that could help should you feel moved to do so.
I have known this family for 2 years and half of them have even lived with us for 4 months when they first got here and were trying to get on their feet. Their youngest son is best buddies now with my boy and they are good people trapped in a terrible situation with a failed government and failed currency. I know they would help me if the situation was reversed. I wish I could do more but I have a family of 5 myself and I simply can’t help any more than I have. They all have apartments of their own and employment now but they don’t yet have enough to get the rest of their family out of harm’s way.
