Despite transportation strikes, tear gas, demonstrations, closures, stampedes, supply shortages, October turned out to be Rough Knuckle Sconery’s best and busiest month for donation to the Cuenca Soup Kitchen. Against all odds and through difficult days we were able to respond to almost daily requests for scones. We were thrilled to be kept busy and to be able to respond.
Diego, from Slow Brew Coffee Shop, Katherine, from Telicioso Tea Room and the staff of Museo Cafe kept us busy. A special thank you goes out to the people who came out and supported those businesses that were hit by the strike.
To date October has proved to be our best month with a donation of $165.00. This brings our total for the past 10 months to $1045 and at a price per meal of $0.93 this is the equivalent of providing 1125 meals.
Rough Knuckle Sconery will be offline for the next month while we move to our new digs.
Together, con junto we can make a difference in the lives of the poor and hungry people of our amazing city. We are grateful for your continued support.
