I hear it all the time. “I just got my dog a new rope toy and it lasted 2 days.” Or “she guts every toy within half an hour.” Toys are not actually an indulgence. Dogs need to chew. And you don’t want them breaking their teeth on rocks or swallowing wood or bone splinters, or disfiguring your furniture or your rugs. So, what are you going to do?
With you in mind, especially those of you with large dogs, I imported toys with names like Kong Wubba and Tuffy, designed for the aggressive chewer. And all of them have satisfying squeakers. Take a look below.
Another option is toys without stuffing, with squeakers at both ends. The Zippy toys are relatively inexpensive and ever-so-popular with the mid-size (and small) set
Bully Sticks (100% healthy protein), and even dried Sweet Potato chews, provide other outlets for chewing needs.
Call me, I can help. I am a CTP (Certified Training Partner) of the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy.
