CSK beneficiaries cannot afford diapers and feminine hygiene products and the planet cannot carry any more waste. However, the Cuenca Soup Kitchen volunteers, supporters, and GelWear provide solutions.
Each of our diaper-age children is given a $78 GelWear kit (2 shells and 12 pads) that lasts 2-3 years. This is a savings of almost $2,500 per child over disposable diapers! GelWear diapers biodegrade 100 times faster than disposable diapers and keep up to 7,000 diapers per child out of the landfill!
The women CSK serves cannot afford to buy commercial feminine hygiene products So CSK volunteers create a reusable feminine hygiene kit for each of them. Hygiene kits contain:
* reusable pads
* panties
* carry bag
* storage/soaking box
