Maria has worked in my house for more than five years now. She comes once a week, cleans the place, changes bed sheets, waters the plants and sometimes even corrects my Spanish. Maria is diligent and detail oriented. In my more than eight years in Cuenca, I have never had someone like Maria work on my apartment.
Maria is the better half of a young family with one kindergarten-going daughter and a toddler son. She and her husband have been building a house on the land donated by her father-in-law.
