Ceramics for children and teenagers:
Two classes per week: Mondays and Tuesdays at two times 8 to 10 AM and 11 AM to 1 PM.
Requirements:
– Affinity and interest of the child for art. (it is about the desire of them to create not of their parents).
– Age range from 9 to 13 years old.
– Ease of cooperation.
– No experience is necessary, just a great desire to create.
Spaces for 10 children.
General objective:
To learn how to design or sketch an artifact or work of art, learn basic construction techniques for molding and sculpting in ceramics, to create any artifact or work of art you plan to make.
Specific objectives:
Month 1 July:
– Sketch a character before creating it in ceramic paste.
– Basic characteristics of hand modeling with ceramic paste.
– Learn to design a character of your mask with personality and physical characteristics of character.
– Learn how to build a mask with a paper mold.
– Learn how to make a small sculpture of a character with the empanada technique.
Includes
– Firing in our kiln.
– Acrylic paint.
– White ceramic paste.
– Basic tools (part of the workshop material).
– Place of work with all the sanitary measures.
– Company of a funny dog.
Works of art to be created:
Month 1
– Animal mask to hang on the wall.
– Small sculpture of the character of the child choice.
Start: Monday, July 5
End: Tuesday, July 27
Price: $125.
Month 2 August
Specific Objectives:
– Learn the pinch technique to build a cup and bowl for breakfast.
– Learn the worm technique to build a flower pot in the shape of an animal or character face.
Includes:
– Firing in our kiln.
– Glazes applied by the teacher (depending on the student’s ability, they will be evaluated if they can use glazes by themselves).
– White ceramic paste.
– Basic tools (part of the workshop material).
– Work place with all sanitary measures.
– Company of a funny dog.
Works of art to be created:
Month 2
– Cup and bowl with drawing for cereal.
– Pot in the shape of a head.
Start: Monday, August 9
End: Tuesday, August 31.
Price: $150.
