Recommendation for Hosteria El Barranco, hotel and/or event site

Hosteria El Barranco is the perfect place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, retirement, engagement, wedding, or any other event! One of the owners, Luis Arcentalez, helped me organize three events at the hosteria over a three day period to celebrate with friends. One of the events, included being serenaded by two local musicians while we enjoyed dinner, another was with a group of traditional Canari dancers over dessert and the last, was with a musician from Cuenca, Luis Ullauri, who not only sang but explained the meaning of each traditional Latin song. Luis Arcentalez worked tirelessly to create a different dinner menu for each evening, served as a tour guide for the Cooperativa Fábrica de Hats and the Canari archaeological site, and provided impeccable service at the hosteria for our group of 10 guests. The hotel has a beautiful banquet room that overlooks the pool and provides a view of the Andes Mountains and Santa Barbara river. El Barranco has a full restaurant (breakfast, lunch, dinner and events), a bar / lounge and 5 rooms each with an ensuite bathroom. The pool is amazing and has the perfect temperature, even when it’s cooler outside. Their sauna provides relaxation with an infused scent of eucalyptus.
