I’ve been sending roses monthly to loved ones back home in the States and Canada as a way to stay connected, show them I love them and not have to collect stuff to take back when I visit! However, it turned out to be even more thrilling for me to send them because of the reactions I get when they receive this enormous box of carefully packed beauties. Brought tears two family members already!
I didn’t realize it would be so touching for those I love! Roses were only for special occasions where I came from. Quality like this is simply too expensive to be considered but for significant milestones (or apologies!). And yes, it’s a chunk out of my monthly retirement to send them. But what I get back is beyond worth it. Besides, where in the USA can you get 50 gorgeous roses for $85-$115? Costco’s are $20 for a dozen, sure, but they are not large or fresh and don’t last, nor possess the sturdiness of these beauties from Ecuador!
I get so excited when I place an order. Giving an experience of love that my family can have for 10 days of flowers opening up, bursting with color and vibrance it gives as if I’m sharing with them my wonder at living in Ecuador. For September I’m behind on sending something so this weekend I want to see who will be home and ready for receiving a delivery on Thursday or Friday!
