Through storytelling, comprehensible input, and dynamic practice, you’ll naturally acquire the language instead of just memorizing it.

Join us to step back in time and taste the sweetest side of Cuenca’s history. we invite you to an exclusive cultural and gastronomic experience centered around Corpus Christi: The Festival of Sweets, happening right here in the city!
• Legends and History: Uncover the origins of this beautiful tradition and its connection to the ancestral Inti Raymi festival. Hear romantic tales of how locals fell in love during these festivities and other charming anecdotes from old Cuenca.
• Hands-on Workshop: Learn the secrets behind traditional Andean colonial sweets! you will participate in the artisanal preparation of hostias, queditos, frutas de manjar, and tirabuzones—all made from local milk and panela.
• Living Theater: This isn’t just a history lesson. The renowned Barojo Theater and Culture Group will bring the past to life with actors portraying popular characters from old Cuenca, taking you on a true journey through time.
2. STUDENT TRIP: LAS Nieves – Nabón
Clay, Wheat, and Tradition: Creating Stories with the Community

ITINERARY:
• 8:30 AM – Departure from Cuenca.
• Visit to Curiquingue Lagoon followed by a short hike.
• Head to La Jarata to make traditional bread.
• Visit to downtown Las Nieves and its church.
• Lunch with a local family.
• Traditional Huactana Pottery: we will create a pottery piece using a pre-Inca technique, a part of the Cañari artisanal heritage. This rustic method is practiced by locals using two stones called huactanas.
• 5 PM (17:00) – Return to Cuenca.
Fee includes: Transportation to/from Nabón, all visits, a local guide, and lunch.
