Mother Cabrini Church – A new church in Cuenca where all are welcome!

Mother Cabrini Church is a new Christian community here in Cuenca that is a little different than other churches you may have attended in the past.*

We wanted to create a church where members of the LGBTQ community and their straight allies, the blind, the deaf, the disabled, HIV+, immigrants, feminists, the poor, the homeless, individuals with alcohol and drug addictions, those who have overcome those addictions and people who are non-believers or have been hurt by religion in the past may all come together to learn, love, seek and be touched by an all-loving community.

We chose to affiliate with the Reformed Catholic Church of America* and to name our church Mother Cabrini Church in honor of Francis Xaviar Cabrini an Italian-American religious sister and the first American Saint. She is considered the Patron Saint of Immigrants and given most of our members of our community are immigrants from North America, Europe and Asia, that appeared to be an appropriate choice.

We would like to invite you to join us on Sunday, August 23rd at 11 AM for the celebration of the Holy Mass celebrated by Father Delvin Morrison along with a message by Mike Triggs and gather for coffee and fellowship afterward. we are located in a former home on General Torres 15-88 and Alberto Munoz Vernaza in Cuenca’s Bellavista neighborhood of El Centro.

  • The Reformed Catholic Church is an Independent Catholic Church, not under the authority of the Bishop of Rome. we are similar in our liturgy, sacraments and apostolic succession. we profess a more progressive theology, ordain men and women, offer open communion, and are fully affirming and inclusive of the LGBTQ community in the life of the Church.
