Maureen is an extraordinary Spanish teacher.
I have studied Spanish in high school (thank you Mr. Mancini) on my own with Pimsleur and Duolingo. I spent a month in an immersive program in Merida and more self-study books than I can remember. Little of it stuck…until I found Maureen.
After about 3 months with her, I am having conversations with taxi drivers, calling restaurants and making reservations easily, and feeling so much more confident in my ability to communicate with native speakers of Spanish. I am not where I want to be but with every session with Maureen I am getting closer and I love it!
While Maureen now lives in Quito, lessons on WhatsApp are easy and effective. (Maureen is on the Ecuador National Pickleball Team and is in Quito for Pickleball.) She was an English teacher in the US for most of her career, so also teaches English lessons.
I have done lessons with her when she has traveled or when I have been out of town (Isn’t the Internet great?!) so I can keep up my progress.
