A great tour to learn about the South Rainforest of Ecuador, thought to let you experience two great towns: Gualaquiza and Zamora, with its tourist attractions:
• Waterfalls (an easy hike to see one of them).
• Rivers (supporting with tourism the protection from mining)
• Chocolate Experience (We visit a Cacao farm and make our own chocolate)
• Shuar Community (We visit a Shuar community and spend the morning with them, preparing food and learning from their ancestral cosmovisions)
• Birdwatching (from hummingbirds to tinamous, if you are into birds, you will love it, if not, but you like nature, you will be amazed)
• Hikes (short hikes to learn about the ecosistem and get to incredible waterfalls or landscapes)
• Rafting (an easy Class 3 Rafting trip, with certified guides, planned for the expat community to enjoy as a cool river morning activity).
We leave from Cuenca with a bilingual guide and a nice comfortable vehicle. We promise a safe, enjoyable trip, in slow tourism mode as we are characterized in our agency. No rush! We say.
We stay 2 nights at a riverside lodge close to Gualaquiza called “Río Vida”. It has its own pool; and 2 nights at Copalinga Nature Reserve Lodge, managed by the “Jocotoco Foundation” (therefore supporting the conservation of this incredible remain of Tropical Rainforest adjacent to the Podocarpus National Park).
All and all, a well thought tour.
