At Common Grounds, this past rainy eve at “Open Mic”, Mr. David Shively sang and played piano. My name is Jerry Price. I had a conversation with Star Singer who performed on stage at Common Grounds right after Mr. Shively’s stellar performance last Thursday. Star Singer told me how wonderful and talented David Shively is. Actually, a nice quote from Star Singer is: “What a singing voice David has! And his piano playing is tops! I mean it! Absolutely fabulous!”
Star Singer opened with his timely original song called, Lets Have Fun Time Traveling followed by his I Am Star Singer. It was right about there when people at the bar all turned their heads at the same time to see what was going on with the singer on stage who dared sing … song lyrics that demand attention due to naming challenges we all have to deal with in modern day life! After that song, Star Singer segued into his original tune he calls, “The World is Getting Stupid” and that is precisely when… well, everybody in the house exploded into laughter. At Star Singer’s very last acoustic guitar chord, a woman with joy and enthusiasm jumped up out of her chair, ran up to Star Singer, and hugged him laughing a beautiful genuine laugh all the way!
David Shively, who returned to his piano to treat the audience with a few more songs, mounted the stage saying in the microphone: “That is a hard act to follow, ladies and gentlemen, Wow! Let’s hear it for Star Singer, everybody! Thanks for coming by Star Singer!”
