Star Singer is a colorful character known throughout Cuenca. A happy and very true tale concerning Star Singer back in the day just may be interesting and amusing to you, dear reader. For once, when Star Singer was working at a place called, Photo Poster, located on 23rd Street in Manhattan, he got a phone call from TV host, Joe Franklin. Joe says to Star Singer: “Hey, boss. I hear you got a good voice and you play pretty good guitar. I want you to entertain a bunch of nice people on a bus going to New Jersey for a grand opening to open a new restaurant. You wanna do it? You get seventy five dollars.” Star Singer says: “Sure!”. Joe Franklin says: “Great! Be in front of Grand Central Station tomorrow night at 6 and look for the bus going to New Greens Restaurant… you’ll see it. See me the following day to pick up your money, boss. Okay?” Star Singer: “Okay. Bye”.
The evening with the people on the bus was successful. The people on the bus, to and fro, enjoyed Star Singer’s songs and entertainment. The real surprise, however, took place at Joe Franklin’s TV studio office the very next day when Star Singer went to go get his pay. Joe Franklin hands Star Singer his 75 bucks and Star Singer glances at a guy sitting in Joe’s office in a dark corner who was eating a ham sandwich. It was Tiny Tim! The entertainer famous for his song, “Tip Toe Through The Tulips”!
