Salvavidas is a rescue shelter caring for many dogs and cats who depend on us. Recently, we faced high veterinary expenses of approximately $5,000 due to a gastrointestinal bacterial outbreak and kennel cough among our animals.
To help cover these costs and continue caring for our furry friends, we are organizing a special food fundraiser on October 18, preparing 200 pulled pork sandwiches served with coconut juice and ají (spicy sauce).
We kindly ask for donations of any of the following ingredients to prepare the fundraiser. Even one item would be a wonderful contribution:
For the coconut juice:
• 2 cases of milk (24 units total)
• 8 brown coconuts
• 1 bottle of coconut essence
• ½ arroba of sugar (about 12.5 pounds)
For the ají and ranch sauces:
• Ají (spicy peppers or sauce ingredients, approx. $4 worth)
• Tree tomatoes (approx. $5 worth)
• 1 red bell pepper
• 3 bags of cooking oil
• Achiote
• Guajillo chiles
• 1 small bag of salt
For the BBQ sauce:
• 1 large bottle of tomato sauce
• 1 large bottle of mustard
• 1 large bottle of soy sauce
• 2 kg of brown sugar
• 10 oz of paprika
