Love, heartbreak, war, compassion, and hope — timeless human experiences carried across more than a century of music.
“Love and War” is a classical art song recital featuring Ecuadorian tenor, Francisco Ortega and Ukrainian pianist, Ekaterina Poukhiria Komova.
The performance begins with Schumann’s Dichterliebe, a deeply personal exploration of love, longing, heartbreak, and resignation. The program then turns to Kurt Weill and Walt Whitman, confronting war and its human consequences. Together, these works move from the intimate to the universal — and ultimately toward compassion and hope.
This powerful performance comes to idiomARTE’s new house for two intimate performances, with space for just 20 people each day.
