If you’re in the market for electronics then the sooner the better. If you’re able to order products and have someone hang on to until they can be brought here, consider doing so this week. iPhone buyers especially. Consumer electronics are rapidly getting more expensive due to the AI industry’s demand for manufacturers to prioritize industrial chip production. Less supply and increased demand are reported to cause prices to continually increase for at least the next 2 years.
Apple reported a couple of weeks ago that they’d increase their prices, but many interpreted that meant for new products later this year. Today Apple increased prices for virtually all of their existing products in stock except for iPhones. The price increases are significant. Apple will likely increase their iPhones prices, soon.
There are some other retailers like Best Buy and Amazon who are selling some Apple products for the previous retail cost. But those prices might only last a matter of days. And supply.
All phones and computers will increase in price. They already have enough that some used electronics have actually appreciated in value since last year. A first in several decades.
